Trench Rescue
Trench rescue technology has changed quite a bit over the past decade, but the principals of trench rescue and the physical laws of nature remain the same. These courses will go well beyond simply meeting certification requirements. Emphasis is placed on maximizing hands-on time with multiple configurations of trenches and trench accident scenarios. The OSHA awareness course has the advantage of having instructors who are not only rescuers but also primary trench workers in many capacities. Our instructors have worked in trenches as farm owners, union laborers and equipment operators. We have a very real-word knowledge of working below grade and a deep experience of making rescues and recoveries in those same holes.
Trench Rescue Ops/Tech
The Trench Rescue Operations and Technician program is focused on equipping rescuers with the KSAs to mitigate a trench rescue incident safely and within OSHA and NFPA guidelines. The class will cover the following topics to allow for a safe rescue operation: OSHA standards and requirements, Lumber and Pneumatic shoring, Sheeting Placement, Backfilling, Hazard Mitigation, and Patient extrication.
OSHA Trench Compliance
This course will give the student the knowledge and understanding of the OSHA regulations regarding trench excavations, specifically OSHA 1926 Subpart P. After completion of this course the student will have an understanding of trench safety and will trained to the qualifications of a "Competent Person". Students will be shown signs and causes of trench collapse, learn about different soil types and the effects of water on a trench and how to perform the required daily inspections of the trench. Students will also learn what types of equipment are available to make a trench safe and learn the importance of inspecting the trench prior to entry.
Collapse Rescue
The Collapse courses at Advanced Rescue Solutions are the culmination of rescue training. The courses follow the FEMA collapse curriculum and are instructed by certified FEMA trainers. Students will participate in all aspects of collapse rescue and should be prepared for extensive hands-on training time. The time spent will be rewarding and will equip the students and team to face the challenges that disaster can bring.
